The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to introduce changes in the date sheet of the board examinations 2019 to ensure that it doesn’t affect the schedule of JEE Main January examination. It might also be possible that the Class 12 practical examinations, which are usually held in January will also face more changes because of the schedule of JEE Main 2019 January session. Nowadays, the registration process of the board exams is going on and once this process is concluded, CBSE will release the final date sheet of the Class 10 and 12 board exams.

As we all know, from this year, instead of CBSE, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting JEE Main. It’s also been in news that NTA has made some changes in the pattern of JEE. From this year, JEE Main will be conducted twice a year. As we all know that the first set of JEE Main 2019 will be held in January 2019, which is also the duration for the Class 10 and 12 board practical examinations. Owing to which, CBSE is likely to bring some changes in the dates of the practical examinations so that students will not face any sort of problem.

It’s natural that many of the Class 12 students will be appearing for the JEE Main which is conducted for admission to Undergraduate level engineering courses across India. The schools affiliated by CBSE usually conduct practical exams of the Class 10 and 12 classes as per the schedule released by the examination authority. As the dates for these two could overlap, it might be a matter of concern for students who are preparing for both of these exams such as JEE Mains and practical exams. So, there are chances that CBSE could pre-pone the practical examination dates to December. The first session of JEE Main is likely to be conducted between January 6 and January 20, 2019 on multiple dates. So, keeping in mind these things, CBSE is likely to pre-pone the practical examinations.

The schools affiliated by CBSE which conduct practical examinations are in a dilemma about the conduct of the practical exams of Class 10 and 12. Conducting practicals in the month of December could be very hectic as holding the practical examinations is a pretty lengthy process which includes arrangement of dates by the regional centers of CBSE, selection of teachers for practical examinations and collection of marks from schools by CBSE. So, CBSE is left with no choice but to pre-pone the Class 10 and 12 practical exams.

The date sheet for the practical examinations will be released by CBSE in the second week of December. It is observed that the practical and internal exams are conducted at the school itself, the board provides a fixed time frame in which the schools have to conduct the practical examinations. The practicals were generally conducted between January 15 and February 25 till 2018. However, this pattern may change this year.

Right now, the schools are preparing themselves to start the pre board examinations for Class 10 and 12. But, students as well as the schools are in tension about the overlapping of the practical exams and internal examinations and the JEE Mains January exam. The date sheet for practical examinations is likely to be released by CBSE in the first week of December 2018. So, keep a close check to the official website of CBSE to know about the dates of the practical examinations.
