CBSE Board Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has conducted the class 10 Science exam today, February 20, 2025. CBSE Class 10 Science Paper 2025 Analysis
Renu Tewari, Head of the Science Department at Vidyagyan School, Bulandshahar, stated that the overall paper is well-balanced, predominantly featuring application-based questions and higher-order thinking questions. Section A offers a good mix of understanding and skill-based multiple-choice questions. Section B includes 5 reasoning-based questions. Section C is highly analytical and requires critical thinking. Section D is designed to assess conceptual knowledge, while Section E consists of case study-based questions that address the objectivity of concepts such as electric circuits, growth movement, and metals and non-metals.
Nikki, a student, was very positive about the exam, noting that the paper closely resembled the CBSE sample paper. She mentioned that the design of the questions in both papers was quite similar. Many other students also shared that they found the biology section easier compared to physics and chemistry.

CBSE Class 10 Science Exam Pattern
The science exam is divided into five sections: A, B, C, D, and E.
- Section A consists of 16 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 4 assertion-reasoning questions, with each question carrying 1 mark.
- Section B contains 6 short answer questions, each worth 2 marks.
- Section C consists of 7 short answer questions.
- Section D includes 3 long answer questions, with marks distributed as 2 and 5 for each question, respectively.
- Section E has 3 case/source-based questions, each carrying 4 marks.
CBSE Board Science Exam 2025 Passing Marks
The CBSE Class 10 Science theory exam paper is carried out for 80 marks, while 20 marks are distributed to the internal assessments. Students have to achieve at least 33 per cent marks in all subjects in order to pass the Class 10 board exam.
