CBSE Board Class 12 Chemistry Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is scheduled to begin the CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Board Exam 2025 tomorrow, February 27, 2025. The Chemistry paper will begin at 10:30 and will conclude at 1.30 pm. With the exam just a few hours away, it is important to focus on efficient and smart revision rather than cramming new topics. Here are some last-minute preparation tips to help you maximise your performance.

CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Board Exam 2025 Last-Minute Preparation Tips

Saurabh Kumar, Director of PhysicsWallah (PW), shares last-minute preparation tips and tricks for the class 12th chemistry exam:

- Go Through the NCERT Summary of Each Chapter

The NCERT textbook is the ultimate guide for the board exams, and its chapter summaries provide a quick and concise revision of key concepts. Go through these summaries to reinforce your understanding of fundamental principles. Pay special attention to important definitions, reactions, and key points highlighted in the NCERT book, as direct questions often come from these sections.

- Revise All Name Reactions of Organic Chemistry

Organic chemistry is a high-scoring section, but it can also be tricky due to the number of reactions involved. Go through all the name reactions mentioned in the NCERT textbook, such as the Aldol condensation, Cannizzaro reaction, Wolff-Kishner reduction, and Sandmeyer reaction. Ensure that you remember the reactants, reagents, products, and mechanisms for these reactions. Writing them down quickly might help you remember better.

- Analyse Question Papers of The Past Three Years

Board exams often have a pattern when it comes to question selection. Going through the last three years' papers will help you identify frequently asked topics and the examiner’s favourite concepts. Focus on these recurring themes, as there is a high chance they might appear in your exam. Also, practice a few sample answers to get comfortable with structuring your responses effectively.

- Memorise Important Points and Colors of Inorganic Compounds

Inorganic chemistry involves a lot of memorisation, especially when it comes to colour-coded compounds and their reactions. Revise the characteristic colours of important compounds like Copper sulfate (blue), Ferrous sulfate (green), Ferric chloride (yellowish-brown), and Potassium permanganate (purple). Additionally, go through periodic trends, coordination compounds, and the reactivity of different groups.

- Review All Important Formulas and Concepts for Physical Chemistry

Physical chemistry is numerical-based and requires quick calculations. Go through all the essential formulas related to thermodynamics, electrochemistry, solid-state, solutions, and chemical kinetics. Make a quick formula sheet and practice a few numerical problems to ensure you can apply the formulas correctly. This will help boost your confidence while solving numerical questions in the exam.
