Applicants applying for the position must have completed the tenth grade (S.S.C./ Matriculation). He/she must be fluent in the local language of the state/union territory (i.e., be able to read, write, and talk in that language) for which the applicant wishes to apply.
The ideal age range is 18 to 26 years old. The candidate must be born between May 1, 1999, and May 1, 2007 (inclusive).

For candidates who qualify or pass the online test, the selection process consists of an online exam followed by a local vernacular language test (also known as a language proficiency test). To advance to the next level of selection and rank list creation, each candidate must achieve a minimum score (cut-off) in each written (online) test segment and a minimum score (cut-off) of 100 overall.
