New Delhi: Social activist Anna Hazare on Saturday took a dig at Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP's) national convener Arvind Kejriwal after the entire party leadership was trailing in the Delhi polls. Reacting to the Delhi Assembly Election outcomes, Hazare blamed AAP's leadership for the loss.

While speaking to reporters, Hazare attributed AAP's underperformance in the Delhi assembly elections to 'inadequate leadership', 'scandals', and their focus on political controversies, despite his repeated advice to AAP leaders.

Hazare remarked, "I have always said that candidates for elections should possess pure character, pure mind, and an unblemished reputation. However, AAP was missing that. They entangled in scandals involving liquor and money, tarnishing Arvind Kejriwal’s reputation. That's the reason they're struggling to secure votes in the election."

The social activist highlighted that Kejriwal had consistently promoted good character, yet people had seen his involvement in the liquor scandal. Hazare further added accusations are a part of politics, but one should keep their innocence. the truth will remain truth.

Hazare also disclosed that he chose to separate himself from AAP right from the start. "When a meeting took place, I decided not to join the party, and I have kept my distance ever since," he stated, highlighting his separation from Kejriwal's political path. Additionally, Hazare stated that striving for a goal without anticipating rewards is the proper approach to achieving it, but Kejriwal failed to grasp this, remarking, "...aur woh doob gaya."
