Sabyasachi Mukherjee is the regent of Indian textiles with his luxurious couture that has been donned by several stalwarts across the globe. With the wedding wave taking over especially among high profile celebs, the Bengali designer has been crowned with the exposure like never before. From the India revival project for his favourite muse Deepika Padukone to styling western biggies like Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian, 2018 has been the year of Sabyasachi. Here’s our rundown of the top 10 ensembles by Sabya that went on a global fashion podium.

1. Deepika Padukone Wedding
Deepika Padukone has always been a prime pick for Sabyasachi. For her wedding with long time beau Ranveer Singh, the designer went in for a customised project and curated a wardrobe for the wedding ceremonies, public appearances and receptions.

2. Priyanka Chopra Wedding
The former Miss World tied the knot with American pop singer Nick Jonas in a dual Christian and Hindu ceremony. Sabya sorted out a Kanauj Rose Lehenga for the stunning bride.

3. Sophie Turner at Priyanka Chopra Wedding
Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner aka Sansa Stark stunned at Priyanka Chopra’s wedding reception wearing a peach ensemble alongside her fiancé and Nick’s elder brother Joe Jonas.

4. Isha Ambani Wedding
Although Sabya did not design Isha’s D-day outfit, he did style the entire Ambani clan in some of his best pieces.

5. Saina Nehwal Wedding
Dressed in a rich indigo velvet lehenga, intricately embroidered with zardosi, appliqué, pearls and crystals, Indian shuttler Saina who married Parupalli Kashyap (also a shuttler) looked like a royal Indian bride on her wedding reception.

6. Oprah Winfrey for Elle India
Oprah Winfrey was featured on Elle India’s cover for their 22nd anniversary issue. The leading lady rocked several outfits by Sabyasachi for the magazine.

7. Kim Kardashian West for Vogue India
US reality TV star Kim was taken on board for Vogue India’s International Women’s day cover wherein she wore a red hot sequins saree by Sabyasachi.

8. Manushi Chhillar Miss World crowning 2018
Manushi who was to hand over her crown as Miss World 2017 to the new Miss World 2018 wore an all-black lehenga.

9. Kangana Ranaut Cannes Debut
For her Cannes debut, Kangana went for an ultra-glamorous rendition of our famous ‘‘Aakash-tara’ (i.e. starry skies) saree in her high street high fashion look.

10. Sara Ali Khan Television Debut
Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara may have made her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput; but it was her television debut on Indian Idol that grabbed eyeballs. Sara wore a ‘Navratan’ lehenga with a black ‘Aakash-tara’ dupatta and blouse.
