Shujalpur (Shajapur): Staying in a hotel along with VVPAT cost four employees dear after they were caught in CCTVs installed at the hotel in a suspicious manner. As soon as district election officer and collector Shrikant Banot came to know about the incident, collector forwarded their suspension recommendation to the divisional commissioner MB Ojha, who immediately took cognizance into the matter and suspended sector officer Sohanlal Bajaj.
According to information, four employees who were posted at Meherkhedi village on election duty stayed at the hotel with VVPAT instead of place designated by the administration. Though, the seal was intact and no manipulation was done with the machine, but administration considered their act as serious dereliction towards their duty. Sources informed that the hotel belongs to BJP leader and officials or personnel who were deployed in poll duty must have to surrender VVPATs at local police station if they want to stay at the hotel.
