Drive against sale of adulterated food items continues in Indore

Indore: Drive against sale of adulterated food items continued for second day on Thursday. A team of officers from district administration on Thursday carried out searches at factories of two prominent sweet and namkeen manufacturers.

Action is being carried out under ‘Operation vishuddha’. A team of officers of district administration and food department led by SDM Shringar Shrivastava searched factory of Jain Mistthan Bhandar (JMB). Another team led by Tehsildar DD Sharma conducted search at a sweet manufacturing factory located in Annapurna Area.

On Wednesday, separate teams of SDMs carried out the search operation at eight locations in the city and eight samples were collected.

Under the guidance of ADM Ajaydev Sharma SDMs and food officers carried out the action and took samples from shops and factory of some of prominent sweet and namkeen shops.

The samples have been sent to state government laboratory. Samples of mawa from Ratan Mawa, Vijay Nagar, chhena malai from Anand Sweets, red pizza from Pizza Hut, pista cake from Sheeta Gazak, namkeen from Jain Namkeen, dudh katali from Panchamrit, mawa from Dudh Amrit Dairy and sample of paneer from Riddhi-Siddhi Resturant were collected.

District administration is keeping a close watch on the sale of adulterated food items. SDMs are instructed to continue checking of sweets-namkeen shops and resturants.

District collector P Narahari has urged people to be careful while purchasing food items and inform district administration or food department officials about the sale of adulterated food items.
