Indore : With the city’s recorded for creating Green Corridors successfully for 10 times in a year, Choithram Hospital has also created a recorded for retrieving organs successfully for seven times.
With the retrieval of heart, liver, kidneys, skin and eyes of Ramgopal Teli, whose organs were airlifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi on Tuesday, Choithram Hospital, a private run city hospital, becomes part of the inter-state organ transplant for seven times.
“We are the first hospital in the city which took the challenge of organs’ retrieval and transport them to other states. It can be possible only with the support of district administration especially Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey, Secretary of Indore Organ Donation Society Dr Sanjay Dixit and experts of our hospital,” CHRC’s deputy director, health services Dr Amit Bhatt said.
He said that Ramgopal was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition and most difficult part of the procedure was to convince his family members for organ donation after he was declared brain dead. But the doctors and members of NGO, Muskan Group, managed the task properly and prepared the family members for donation.
