Google says that it is aware that the YouTube app is crashing for a few users and it recommends iPhone users to reinstall the app to fix the problem. This issue was spotted on Android and iOS devices both wherein the YouTube app was unexpectedly crashing or it was being unresponsive when clicked. Reinstalling the app brings YouTube to the latest version enabling the fix to be integrated as well.
“The issue is fixed! If you're using an iOS device, please reinstall the app. Thanks for your patience while we looked into this, Google said on its community support page. In order to reinstall the YouTube app, please follow the following steps:
Delete the YouTube app
Restart your iPhone
Re-download the YouTube app from the Apple App Store
