World Milk Day: Amul to organise 10 Facebook live session with chefs from India, Saudi Arabia, West Indies, Canada, UK and others

Since 2001, every year June 1 has been marked as World Milk Day. The day was established by the FAO to recognise the importance of milk as a global food, and to celebrate the dairy sector. Each year since, the benefits of milk and dairy products have been actively promoted around the world, including how dairy supports the livelihoods of one billion people.

On this occasion, Amul, a brand with a turnover exceeding Rs 52,000 crore, managed by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), has planned a series of activities. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), MD, RS Sodhi said that the company organises a series of events every year to mark World Milk Day.

Other than the regular dedicated topical creative on World Milk Day which will be in all published across various publications. The company will be placing hoarding across various sites. The brand will run ‘Doodh Doodh’ – 30 seconds ad on Spotify, Gaana and Saavn and across 217 stations of Radio City, MY FM, Big FM, Fever FM/nasha, Radio Mirchi, Radio Tadka and TOP FM. Other than carrying live sessions on a TV channel, Amul will have live Facebook sessions as well. “We are also organising 10 Facebook live sessions with international chefs from India, Saudi Arabia, West Indies, Hong Kong and UAE who will present dishes where milk is the core ingredient, thus communicating the impact of milk in all cultures and cuisines.”

From morning 10.30 am to 11 pm, chefs from around the world will cook and share recipes of various milk-based cuisines.

Chefs participating for the sessions are Hasan Kanso, Consultant Chef, Karlsruhe, Germany; Jomon Kuriakose, The Lalit London Chef-de-cuisine, London; Alessandro Persico, Italian Chefs De Cuisine, Hongkong; Sanjay Thakur, Vice President, Young Chef's Association of India & Varinder Singh Rana, Dean, School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism, CT University; Sarthak Kochar, Head Chef, Hilton Garden Inn, Ras Al Khaimah UAE; Minal Menon, Owner, Cooking Studio, Curry Station, Ahmedabad; Thomas Gugler, President, Worldchefs, Saudi Arabia; Sandeep Supkar, Executive Chef, West Indies; Umesh Diwakar, Executive Chef, Ladies Golf Club of Toronto, Canada; and Anish Vikas Diwikar, Executive Chef, Global Taste Commercial Saudi Arabia.
