New Delhi: There is great news for farmers who are part of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan). After a long wait, the government has announced that the 20th installment of ₹2,000 will be credited to farmers' bank accounts in the first week of August 2025.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the funds on August 2, 2025, from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi.
20th Installment to Reach Farmers on August 2
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare shared the update on its official handle (X, formerly Twitter), saying the installment will reach directly into farmers’ accounts from Varanasi.
A message alert on your phone will confirm that the amount has been received.
Why This Installment is Special
The PM-Kisan scheme gives Rs 6,000 per year in three installments of Rs 2,000 each to eligible farmers. This helps farmers with farming costs and household expenses.
So far, over 9.8 crore farmers have benefited from the 19 earlier installments.
This 20th installment is also important because e-KYC, Aadhaar, and bank account linking are now mandatory to prevent fraud and ensure that only the right farmers receive the money.
