In what is being seen as a major sign of victory by hawkish Trump supporters, Donald Trump claimed that he had a 'productive' conversation with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau over crucial issues.

Trump -Trudeau Talk

This comes just days after Donald Trump went on a tirade against Canada, along with Mexico and China, over issues of immigration and the drug crisis.

In a recent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump gave update on Canada.

In his post he said that he had a conversation with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. He added, "I just had a very productive meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, where we discussed many important topics that will require both Countries to work together to address."

'Will No Longer Sit Idly'

Projecting his attention at 'crises' that he deems are plaguing the discourse, Trump added, "the Fentanyl and Drug Crisis that has decimated so many lives as a result of Illegal Immigration, Fair Trade Deals that do not jeopardize American Workers, and the massive Trade Deficit the U.S. has with Canada."

Trudeau Makes Commitment

Asserting his stance, Trump said," I made it very clear that the United States will no longer sit idly by as our Citizens become victims to the scourge of this Drug Epidemic, caused mainly by the Drug Cartels, and Fentanyl pouring in from China. Too much death and hardship!"

Furthermore, he said, "Prime Minister Trudeau has made a commitment to work with us to end this terrible devastation of U.S. Families. We also spoke about many other important topics like Energy, Trade, and the Arctic. All are vital issues that I will be addressing on my first days back in Office, and before."

Trump's Tariff Tactic

Earlier, Trump had also claimed that he also spoke with Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

In his post, Trump claimed that the Mexican president said, that she would close the US-Mexico border, although no official statement on the matter or specificity of it was reported.

Previously, Trump once again hit the headlines with his pre-presidency moves, by saying that he would launch tariff offensive of at least 10 per cent against China, Mexico, and Canada over issues of illicit immigration and Drug crisis that is resulted by drug supply from these countries.
