New Delhi based product company Contify has been announced a winner along with 8 other startups from around the world in the 2014 StartmeupHK Venture Programme. The 9 winners will be competing in a 5 day grand finale in Hong Kong from Nov 10 through Nov 14. Contify also happens to be the only winner from India. The remaining 8 winners are from Canada, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, and US.

The StartmeupHK Venture Programme is a global competition designed for high-impact, innovative and scalable startups that aim to expand their businesses globally from Hong Kong. The Venture Programme began in July this year by inviting startups from around the world to apply.

During the 5 day grand finale, the winners will pitch to a group of investors, get access to expert market insights, and receive high level mentorship for building a business in Hong Kong.

“The StartmeupHK Venture Programme has attracted not only scalable startups but also the attention of local and overseas family offices and high-net-worth individuals given the investment potential that Hong Kong’s startup ecosystem has to offer.” – Simon Galpin, Director General of Investment Promotion, Invest HK. “The startup scene in Hong Kong has grown rapidly. It is home to roughly 600 to 800 startups, many of them led by overseas entrepreneurs. Now is the right time for founders and investors from all over the world to come to Hong Kong and experience our thriving startup community.” – Gregory So, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Hong Kong

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be a winner in this prestigious venture programme. Hong Kong sits in the center of the Asia Pacific growth story. Its vibrant economy is growing rapidly and its regulations are startup friendly. It’s a perfect market to seriously consider if you’re looking to grow in Asia Pacific. Being selected as a finalist alongside other promising startups doing some ground breaking work in the areas of technology, education, robotics, etc. is a validation of our own value proposition. We’re looking forward to compete in the grand finale in Hong Kong.” – Mohit Bhakuni, Founder & CEO, Contify.
