Sensex trades 173 points up in early session

Mumbai: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Wednesday was trading 173.16 points or 0.65 percent up during the morning session. The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 48.55 points or 0.56 percent up at 8,109.25 points. The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,704.02 points, was trading at 26,763.75 points (at 9.24 a.m.) in the early session, up 173.16 points or 0.65 percent from the previous day’s close at 26,590.59 points. The Sensex touched a high of 26,800.06 points and a low of 26,698.65 points in the trade so far.
