Centre reappoints M K Jain as RBI Deputy Governor

The government today reappointed Mahesh Kumar Jain as Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India for a period of two years.

According to a government notification, the appointments committee of the Cabinet has approved the reappointment of Mahesh Kumar Jain, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India for a period of two years with effect from June 22.

Prior to joining RBI, he was IDBI Bank's managing director. He joined RBI in 2018 in place of S S Mundra, who had completed his three-year term in July last year.

Jain, with 30 years of banking experience, has been MD of IDBI Bank since March 2017. He also served as MD and CEO of Indian Bank from November 2015 to March 2017. He has three decades of banking experience in diverse areas and has served on several boards including Exim Bank, NIBM, IBPS and others.
