The 18th Prof G Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture, organised every year by IGNOU, was delivered by Prof Ram G Takwale, Former VC, IGNOU and Former Director, NAAC. The main theme of the lecture was ‘Reconstructing Higher Education: Approaches to New Education for Social Transformation in a Globally Connected Society’.
Prof Takwale talked about the open resource and social networking movements, and reconstruction and empowerment of learners and society. He mentioned that the ICT-based revolution is providing the higher and school education systems a centre-stage role in education and social development.
The event was presided over by Prof M Aslam, vice chancellor, IGNOU. Prof B N Kaul, former PVC, IGNOU was the Guest of Honour.
