Maruti to recall 20k units of S-Cross

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India said as many as 20,427 units of its premium crossover model S-Cross need possible replacement of a faulty brake part and announced a ‘free service campaign’ to rectify the problem.

Without terming it a recall, the company said in a statement that the vehicles which need possible replacement of the faulty brake part were manufactured between April 20, 2015 and February 12, 2016. The service campaign applies to both the S-Cross variants (DDiS200 and DDIs320).

Owners of the impacted vehicles will be contacted by dealers. The S-Cross is priced between Rs 8.03 lakh and Rs 12.03 lkh (ex-showroom Delhi) ands is sold through its premium retail outlet Nexa showrooms only.

Last year in March, the company had announced a recall of 33,098 units of its small car models Alto 800 and Alto K10 manufactured between December 8, 2014 and February 18, 2015 to rectify defective latches on right side doors.
