The Indian Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (IASAP), Mumbai Headquarters, organizes the traditional Boss-Secretary Lunch annually for its members and their respective Bosses.

The theme for this year, focusing on today’s diverse role of the Administrative Professional in the new corporate workspace, was “Innovate, Integrate, Motivate”. This theme was the brainchild of Shera Langrana, past president, all India.

This event has been taking place since 30 years, and is always co-sponsored by Vivanta by Taj President & Blue Dart Express Limited.  This event was held on 27th April, when Admin Professionals Day was celebrated globally.  The Presidential Ballroom at Taj President was packed with bosses and their Secretaries from myriad Corporates across Mumbai. Many of the guest speakers who addressed us at our various monthly meetings in the last year were also present. Past Presidents, All India, also graced the occasion. Past All India President Zarine Commissariat was the compere.

The welcome address by IASAP President, All-India – Sharon Pires of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited was enlightening.  Mr. Farhat Jamal, Senior Vice-President – Operations, West & Africa, Taj Group of Hotels, addressed the gathering and released the IASAP Newsletter “The Professional Secretary”, edited by Past President, All India, Moti Vazifdar. The next speaker was Mr. Balfour Manuel, Senior Vice President and Regional Head – West, Blue Dart Express Ltd. He commented on the appropriateness of the theme (“Innovate, Integrate, Motivate”) to which he added the word “Grow”, stressing its importance for Admin Professionals.

Mr. Balfour Manuel was requested to release “The History & Milestones” booklet, which he then presented to all Past Presidents. The Governing Council members were introduced, and they looked cool and composed in their elegant uniform sarees.

President Emeritus Homai Mehta expressed her desire for the organisation to grow further, with efforts to start a new Chapter in Vadodara, adding another to the six Chapters already existing – which truly makes them an all India Association.

All present received a memento from Blue Dart and all secretaries were presented with a gift by the Central Bank of India. The function ended with a sumptuous lunch, Taj style!
