New Delhi: Google CEO Sundar Pichai addressed students at the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University today. At the session ‘Ask Sundar’, cricket analyst Harsha Bhogle asked some interesting questions. Taking all the questions with a lot of energy and zest, the Chennai born CEO said, “I am a huge football fan and MLC fan.

On being asked about his interest in technology, he said, “I was always interested in technology. I also wanted to be a part of something that connects humanity. I would encourage all of you to work with people you think are better than you, you must push yourself and get out of the comfort zone.”

The interactive session also saw some video questions from students of IIT Kanpur. On developers and entrepreneurs Pichai added that “The more developers you have the more possibility of problems being solved. Our idea is to train too many new android developers in the coming three years.”

Mentioning a few structural barriers holding India’s growth, Sunder said, “I think India has a culture of very strong educational system. Creativity is an important attribute.

Encouraging creativity is of utmost importance. It should be practical where you get hands on, project based learning. It is important to teach students to take risks.”

Sundar Pichai who also announced Wi-Fi to 100 railway stations said, “We see an increasing opportunity to do things first in India and then taking it to world. This is why we are expanding so much in India. A campus in Hyderabad is an offshoot of this.”
