Cannes Lions 2017: India took home 40 honours

Mumbai : At the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2017, India won 40 lions including a Grand Prix. This year turned out to be amazing for India. This year, agencies from India took home 10 Gold Lions, 16 Silver Lions, 13 Bronze Lions and one Grand Prix.

Last year at the global advertising festival Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, India had won 27 lions. This year around 1,227 entries came from India, out of which 106 were shortlisted. India won 16 Silver Lions, 13 Bronze Lions and 10 Gold Lions.

The maximum metals were bagged by McCann Worldgroup India. The agency won 15 metals and also bagged the highest award at the festival, Grand Prix. The agency won Grand Prix for its Immunity Charm campaign done for ministry of public health, Afghanistan. In total, the agency won four gold, seven silver four bronze metals.

Ogilvy & Mather won nine metals across categories including two gold, two silver and five bronze metals. Leo Burnett, BBDO India and Taproot Dentsu won three metals each. Health category attracted most metals.
