Niimesh Patel, President, Builders Association of India (BAI) welcomes ‘Agneepath’ Scheme rolled out by the Central Government. He assured that the Agniveers will be provided with job opportunities through the BAI’s 200+ centres(branches), pan India. Over one lakh members of the BAI have wholeheartedly extended their support to the decision.
Explaining the need, president Niimesh Patel said- “the world is short of a quality workforce and India can fulfil that gap, as we have the world’s youngest population, which is an advantage for new and growing India. But at the same time, skilled, qualified and dedicated young professionals are a need of the hour, and to address this issue Government of India has taken many effective steps like, ‘Skill India’, ‘Start-up India’ and many others and now by announcing the ‘Agneepath’ scheme, Government is giving opportunities to young Indians to join defence sector as ‘Agniveers’ which is applaudable.”
Builders’ Association of India (BAI), established in 1941, is an over eight-decade old association of civil engineering construction contractors and real estate builders. It is the only apex representative body of the Indian construction industry. BAI will encourage their member companies to hire these talented soldiers who have served the country through the most prestigious armed forces the country is proud of.
This decision will help many ‘Agniveers’ in their second innings of professional career.
After the announcement of the Agneepath scheme by the Government of India on the 14th of June this year, the country witnessed widespread, violent protests owing to the lack of clarity on the future prospects of the Agniveers. However, many private as well as government organizations have come forward to provide employment to the Agniveers on completion of their tenure. Such opportunities help the citizens get a view of the other side of the coin. It broadens perspective.
BAI’s announcement for recruitment is one such. This opening to an Agniveer’s second innings will be a definite head start post service in compliance to the fact- ‘A soldier is never OFF- Duty’!
