MUMBAI: The finance ministry is planning to buy Bank of India’s premises in central Mumbai and use it to house the office of the Forward Markets Commission. “The (finance) ministry is discussing the proposal with Bank of India to buy the latter’s premises in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex). The final decision is likely to be taken very soon,” the source told Cogencis. The source said buying of the premise from the public sector bank would also eliminate the intervention of the Central Vigilance Commission, which would have been the case had the deal been struck with a private real estate firm.
