Bikry App raises $1.3 mn funding led by YCombinator, others

Bikry app (by Bizrise Technologies), an all-in-one platform to take one's business online, has announced that it has secured $1.3 million funding with participation from YCombinator, the Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator along with the founders of Twitch.TV, RazorPay, Angelist, Cabra VC, and Sumon Sadhu.

Bikry App aims to support entrepreneurs and small business owners who want to create an internet business by starting them off with a free website. Available on the Google Playstore, the Bikry app provides businesses with an online catalogue in the form of a website integrated with all payment options and local and national shipping in 30 seconds with zero investment.

With the Bikry app, free to download on the Google Playstore, anyone can easily create and maintain an attractive, professional-looking product catalogue that the company shares with their customers through WhatsApp and SMS with just a link.

During the pandemic, the company has seen a 300 percent increase in its unique customer base, Bhayana said, adding the aim to serve 1M+ businesses by the end of 2021.

The Bikry app is the brainchild of two entrepreneurs, Himanshu Garg (IIT-R, Previously: CTO Via.com, and Google Engineering) and Abhishek Bhayana (Purdue University. Previously: StrawberryPOS, Investment Banking, NY). The Direct-to-consumer’ platform helps small and medium-sized businesses kickstart their online store within 30 seconds at 0 percent commission. Bikry app offers retailers and small business owners an end-to-end digital solution from managing daily operations, promotion, sales, payment to delivery and shipping services across India. Offline businesses can sell their products and services online via their own digital store using the Bikry application. All they need to do is download, register, upload their product/services, and share it across different channels like WhatsApp, social media or SMS.
