New Delhi: Aadhar card is one of the most important documents in India today. Every citizen, young or old, needs to have an Aadhar card. It is required for almost everything — from booking a hotel room to opening a bank account.

At present, people can update some details on their Aadhar card online. But for some important changes, they still need to visit an Aadhar Seva Kendra (service center). This can be difficult for people living in remote areas.

Big Change from November 2025

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will allow more updates to be done online from November 2025. This means people will no longer have to go to service centers for most updates.

This decision is especially helpful for those who live in villages or areas far away from cities. It will save time, effort, and travel costs.

What You Can Already Update Online

Right now, Aadhar card holders can update the following details online:

- Name (minor corrections)

- Address

- Gender

- Date of Birth

These are called demographic details. They are basic personal information.

What New Updates Will Be Allowed Online

From November 2025, more updates will be possible online. These include:

- Correcting spelling mistakes in name

- Updating information about family members (like father’s or husband’s name)

- Changing address using another resident’s documents

- Possibly increasing the limit for date of birth changes

Easier and More Comfortable

UIDAI wants to make Aadhar services easier for all citizens. With this new online system, updating your Aadhar card will become more comfortable, faster, and simpler — all from the comfort of your home.
