Baidyanath forays into FMCG sector

Mumbai: The Rs 800-crore Baidyanath Group is set to make a foray into FMCG segment with the launch of cosmetics and wellness range under ‘Mantra’ brand.

“We are entering into chemical-free cosmoceutical sector under the brand Mantra. We plan to introduce herbal medicines in newly emerging therapeutic segments, including diabetology, cardiovascular diseases and hepatology,” Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan Executive Director Anurag Sharma told PTI.

“We have got Mantra cleared by the USFDA and successfully launched the products in the US market. We are now launching in India to start with tier-I cities by March 2016,” Sharma said. The cosmoceutical sector is estimated at $20 billion and growing at 25 per cent per annum.
