Axis Bank Names Neeraj Gambhir Executive Director, Appointment Approved For 3-Year Term

Mumbai: Axis Bank has announced the appointment of Neeraj Gambhir as Executive Director for a period of three years. The decision was approved by the bank’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on July 18, 2025, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

According to the regulatory filing made with the stock exchanges on Friday, Gambhir’s appointment will be effective from August 4, 2025, or from the date of approval by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), whichever comes later.

Gambhir, who holds Director Identification Number (DIN): 00257375, will join the bank’s leadership team as a Wholetime Director, carrying the designation of Executive Director. The appointment reflects Axis Bank’s continued focus on strengthening its senior management bench as part of its strategic growth and governance initiatives.

The appointment comes at a time when Axis Bank is actively enhancing its executive leadership to support business expansion and long-term goals. The bank stated that all necessary regulatory processes will be followed in the lead-up to Gambhir’s joining.
