Airport Authority of India (AAI) inaugurated a new integrated terminal building at Vadodara airport, whereas at Vijayawada airport, there was a ceremony conducted for the runaway which is suppose to strengthen and extend runway there.
In Vijayawada airport, Chandrababu Naidu, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh; M Venkaiah Naidu, union minister of parliamentary affairs, urban development, housing & urban poverty alleviation; P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, union minister of civil aviation; Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister of State of Labour & Employment, were present on the occasion.
Others present on the occasion include Y S Chowdary, union minister of state for earth sciences, science & technology; R N Choubey, secretary (CA); Guruprasad Mohapatra, chairman, AAI and other dignitaries.
On the other hand, the new integrated terminal building at Vadodara airport which was inaugurated recently, has been constructed having total area of 17500 Sqm with land area of 630.60 acres. It is capable of handling 700 passengers (500 domestic and 200 international) during the peak hours. The terminal building is equipped with state-of-the-art modern passenger friendly facilities.
