The much-hyped action-drama, 'Shamshera', which marks Ranbir Kapoor's return to the silver screens after four long years, seems to have failed to impress the audience.
Even after weeks of rigourous promotions, the film could not live up to its hype and witnessed a sublime start of Rs 10.25 crore.
And now, according to a report in Zoom, several shows of the film were cancelled due to the absence of audiences at the theatres.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta too tweeted, "Another big film… but the same story continues! Shows of ‘Shamshera’ in the morning and noon/afternoon at some cinemas cancelled due to absence of an audience."
Made on a budget of around Rs 150 crore, the makers of 'Shamshera' are now keeping their fingers crossed for a decent weekend collection and are banking on the word-of-mouth in the market.

The high-octane, adrenaline-pumping entertainer is set in the 1800s in the heartland of India.
The film has been directed by Karan Malhotra, and it also stars Vaani Kapoor in a pivotal role. The action extravaganza has been produced by Aditya Chopra and has released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
