Actor-comedian Raju Srivastava, who has been in the intensive care unit of AIIMS for a fortnight following a heart attack, is now stable. According to several media reports, his health has slightly improved, however, he continues to be unconscious.
The 58-year-old stand-up comedian was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi after he suffered a heart attack on August 10. He underwent an angioplasty the same day.
A report in India Today stated that Raju is being made to listen to megastar Amitabh Bachchan's voice to improve his brain functions.
Reportedly, doctors are taking the help of neurophysiotherapy to treat Raju.
A few days ago, Big B wished Raju Srivastava a speedy recovery. The superstar had reportedly sent him an audio message in which he said, "It's enough Raju. Rise up Raju, and keep teaching us all to laugh."
According to doctors, listening to your loved one's voice can help in early recovery. When Amitabh was told this by Raju's family, he recorded an audio message in his own style and sent it.
Last week amid reports of his deteriorating health, his wife Shikha had said Srivastava is a "fighter" who will come back stronger. Shikha had also requested the media and the fans to not spread rumours as it affects the family's "morale".
Also known for Hindi films such as "Maine Pyar Kiya", "Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon" and "Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya, Raju is a former contestant of reality shows such as "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge" and "Bigg Boss 3".
He is also the chairperson of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh.
