Jiah Khan Suicide Case Verdict: Actress' mother Rabia says 'Don't know what the outcome will be...'

A special CBI court in Mumbai will announce on Friday its verdict in the death case of Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, who was found dead in her home on June 3, 2013. The late actress' Rabia Khan may not be able to attend the court proceedings tomorrow.

According to a report in ETimes, Rabia Khan has hoped for justice. "I am in spiritual realm with my child," she told the news portal and added further, "l really don’t know what the outcome will be of the truth we stand by."

Jiah Khan's death case

Jiah's boyfriend and Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi was charged on the basis of a six-page letter purportedly written by Jiah Khan, who was found hanging in her Juhu home.

As per the Central Bureau of Investigation, the letter, which was seized by Mumbai police that began its probe on June 10, 2013, was written by Jiah Khan.

The CBI claimed the note narrated her "intimate relationship, physical abuse and mental and physical torture" allegedly at the hands of Sooraj Pancholi, which led to her committing suicide.

The case was reassigned to a special CBI court in 2021 after the sessions court said it did not have the jurisdiction over the case as the CBI had probed it.

Jiah Khan's mother Rabia Khan, a key prosecution witness in the case, told the court she believed it was a case of murder and not suicide. The Bombay High Court last year dismissed her petition seeking a fresh probe into the case.

Jiah Khan marked her acting debut in 2007 with 'Nishabd', co-starring Amitabh Bachchan. She went on to play pivotal parts in 'Ghajini' alongside Aamir Khan and multi-starrer 'Housefull'.
