BHOPAL : A day after the Special Task Force ( STF) lodged an FIR in transport constables’ recruitment scam, the Congress again tried to put the BJP government in the dock. The party wants to know how 332 candidates were selected in the recruitment when only 198 vacancies were advertised.
” This is shocking. Why and how did the government select more candidates than the posts advertised,” questioned MPCC chief spokesman KK Mishra.
Transport department had advertised 198 vacancies for direct recruitment of constables and that included 119 general posts, 59 for females and 20 for ex- army men. But Transport Minister Bhupendra Singh released a list of 316 successful candidates at a press conference, he said. The Vyapam has released merit list of 332 candidates, he added.
Mishra said STF had lodged FIR against 34 candidates so far for using unfair means in the recruitment test, only after pressure from the Congress and the High Court.
He said the Congress had sought class ten and twelve mark sheets and domicile certificates of selected candidates but so far they were not provided.
The Congress spokesman said the State government should release the list of officers who attested the documents of the selected candidates.
