Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A major fire broke out at the top floor of Nema Heart Hospital in Jabalpur, causing panic in the area. The blaze started from the hospital's signboard on the top floor, leading to chaos and fear among locals.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident and all the patients were evacuated safely.

According to Vijaynagar station in-charge Virendra Pawar, at the time of the incident, two patients were admitted to the hospital. As soon as informed, fire department officials rushed to the spot and rescued both patients safely after a tough operation.

Hospital ran despite orders to shut down

The hospital had been ordered to shut down by the district administration on April 18 due to the lack of a Fire NOC (No Objection Certificate). However, it continued to admit new patients, including one from Buxwaha, Chhatarpur on April 26.

Due to the fire, the hospital’s electricity was cut off, and four fire engines were deployed to bring the flames under control. After much effort, the fire was finally extinguished.

8 invalid hospitals running in city

According to Jabalpur’s Chief Medical and Health Officer Sanjay Mishra, eight hospitals are operating without valid Fire NOCs, in Jabalpur district. Despite warnings, these hospitals continue to function, raising serious safety concerns.

The incident took place near Deendayal Chowk in the Madhotal police station area, leading to panic among people in the locality.
