Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Panic spread across Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur on Sunday, after a badly injured and naked body was found in the bushes near Shobhapur cremation ground under the Ranjhi police station area.

Police reported that the deceased is Armaan Shrivastava, a local leader of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Jabalpur.Armaan, also known as Golu, was a resident of Krishna Sales, behind Kanchghar.

According to information, the body had deep injuries, and some parts had been bitten by animals. Reports suggest the body was two to three days old.

The police have sent the body for postmortem and registered a case against.

Based on initial investigation, it appears to be a murder. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report.

Arman was missing for 4 days

Armaan's family revealed that he had been missing for three to four days, and they had already filed a missing person complaint at Ghamapur police station. They also claimed that Armaan had been receiving threatening phone calls recently and had informed police, but no action was taken. The family expressed anger over police negligence.

What was the matter?

According to reports, Armaan had gone to Bargi Dam with his friends Shubham Tiwari and Sahil Daniel. An argument broke out between them, during which Shubham and Sahil allegedly kidnapped Armaan, took him to a deserted area near the cremation ground, stripped him, and beat him brutally.

He suffered severe injuries, including to his private parts, and died on the spot. The accused then dumped his body in a garbage pile and fled the scene.

After returning from Bargi, the two friends pretended to be unaware of Armaan’s disappearance and misled his family. However, after police analyzed call recordings and other technical evidence, they interrogated the two strictly. Both eventually confessed to the crime and were taken into custody.

Investigation underway

Sumit Singh Thakur, a senior leader of the VHP and Bajrang Dal, accused the police of ignoring key evidence. He said Armaan’s brother had called Shubham on May 9 around 12:30 am, during which Armaan’s screams and him saying “Bade Papa, I won’t go” were clearly heard in the background.

This audio was shared with the police, but still, no immediate action was taken. He demanded that the person referred to as ‘Bade Papa’ in the audio should also be identified and arrested.
