Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ) has prepared a Mines Protected Vehicle (MPV) equipped with advanced features for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Its final trial is likely to be held soon and after the successful testing of it 10 such vehicles will be handed over to the CRPF troop.
According to reports, 36 modifications have been done in the MPV on the suggestion of the security force. The vehicle has gun port in the front glass, rocket launcher, rear view camera, search lights on all four sides and winches on the front and back side.
The vehicle is completely bulletproof. The gun port has been made by cutting glass as a result soldiers can fire bullets easily. In previous vehicles, firing ports were built somewhere else.
A stand has been designed to hold the rocket launcher properly. Earlier, the soldiers used to face a lot of trouble while firing rockets. Winches are made on both sides to pull the vehicle. Earlier, it was available only on the front side of the vehicle.
The rear view camera will also keep an eye on the enemy from inside the vehicle. On the other hand searchlights are made on all the four corners of the vehicle which provide help at inaccessible places and can be ready for any kind of movement during night.
The vehicle has three axles and 6 wheels in which power transmissions have been fitted. It is capable of movement in mud, waterlogged areas and other roads. Nonetheless, the other features of the vehicle have been kept confidential for security reasons.
