Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached Jodhpur on Tuesday with his family for his son's wedding. His elder son, Kartikey Singh Chouhan, is scheduled to get married on March 6.
It is also the Union Minister's birthday on March 5 (today). He greeted everyone with folded hands at the airport as wife Sadhna and guests wished him with special Rajasthani sweets.
Kartikeya weds Amanat
Kartikeya will tie the knot with Amanat Bansal, daughter of Anupam Bansal, executive director of the famous shoe manufacturing company Liberty. The wedding will take place at Umaid Bhawan Palace on March 6. The pre-wedding festivities started on Tuesday.
Besides the palace, other five-star and seven-star hotels across Jodhpur have been booked for the VIP guests.
Talking to media, Shivraj said, "Daughters have always been considered superior to sons in our culture. We are excited to welcome a daughter in our family."
Baraatis welcomed in Indore
The wedding procession of Kartikeya, reached reached Indore late night on Monday. A large number of BJP leaders and public representatives were present to welcome the baraatis. On Tuesday morning, the guests left from Indore Airport for Jodhpur.
Younger son Kunal married Ridhi in Bhopal on March 14
A few days ago on March 14, Shivraj's younger son Kunal Singh Chouhan got married to Ridhi Jain in Bhopal. Several dignitaries and politicians like Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, UP CM Yogi Adityanath attended the wedding.
