Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A trip to 'nani ka ghar' turned into a nightmare for a 4-year-old in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur. The child was playing at the platform of Jabalpur railway station while waiting for the train with his family when his leg got stuck in the elevator.

The child remained stuck in the elevator for at least 40 minutes as the family waited for help. Though as he cried, other passengers on the platform rushed to check him. It's only after 40 to 45 minutes that the railway administration, GRP, and a technician team reached the spot. They rescued the child and took him to a hospital for treatment.

The victim has been identified as 4-year-old Waris Bansal, a resident of Amarpatan village of Maihar. He was going to his maternal grandmother's place in Shahdol with his mother, Mala Bansal. The family was waiting for the train at Jabalpur railway station when the child's leg got stuck in the elevator.

The elevator was sealed after the incident.

The child is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. His mother, Mala, said that the doctors have sought another 16 hours for a detailed medical report. She said that the entire treatment cost will be borne by the railway administration.
