Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy, who had run away from their homes were found hanging in a village house in Jabalpur on Sunday.

The couple had run away from their home in Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh. The couple had been living together in Baroda village for the past one and a half months.

Police conducted a post-mortem and handed over the bodies to their families. Authorities are investigating whether it was a case of suicide or murder.

How Did Their Love Story Begin?

According to the police, the 17-year-old girl was a first-year undergraduate student, while the 18-year-old boy was in the 12th grade. They lived just five kilometers apart and studied in the same school and college. Their friendship soon turned into love.

On January 25 this year, both suddenly went missing. Their families searched for them but found no clues. A missing persons report was then filed at the Shivli police station in Kanpur Dehat.

A Desperate Call for Help

Recently, the girl made a desperate phone call to her brother. "Brother, I am in trouble, please come and take me," she pleaded. This call alarmed the family. They traced her mobile location and, along with Uttar Pradesh police, reached Jabalpur. Upon arrival in Baroda village, they were devastated to find that both had died. The local police confirmed the details.
