Members of the all-women squad say entire locality is their home

BHOPAL: Generally kitty parties are limited to fun activities for the participating women but there are a few who use them as platforms to do something productive and useful for society. A group of around 10 women of B Sector in Piplani, BHEL falls in the latter category.

They want their house to be neat and clean. But for them, their house is not limited to the confines of four walls. They consider the entire locality as their home. These women are not only working hard to change the habit of people who consider every place an open dustbin but are also keeping a watch on those who dump waste in the open or litter the locality.

Every Sunday, these women set out on work and remove garbage from wherever they find it. And they utilise their kitty parties to disseminate the message of keeping the environs clean and to involve more and more women with their group. They have also appointed two labourers to work with them regularly to keep the area clean.
