Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Due to summer vacations and religious travel, trains passing through Bhopal are seeing heavy crowds. Around 46 regular trains have long waiting lists until the first and second week of July.

This is happening even though the Railways have added extra coaches to many trains and introduced several special trains.

Passengers are still struggling to get confirmed tickets. According to railway officials, over three dozen summer special trains are currently running through the Bhopal railway division. Seeing the huge demand, the Railways have also extended the service period of these special trains. Regular trains are also getting extra coaches to reduce the rush.

Most of the waiting list pressure is on trains going to Mumbai, South India, and Uttar Pradesh. Officials said that after the Pahalgam attack, fewer people are traveling towards Jammu-Kashmir and Punjab, so more people are choosing to travel to Mumbai, South India, and UP instead.

Trains running on the Bhopal–Lucknow route are also heavily booked due to an increase in passengers going to Ayodhya for religious visits. This is making it even harder for people to get confirmed tickets.

Popular trains like the Bhopal–Mumbai and Bhopal–Gorakhpur routes are also full because families, students, and tourists are traveling more during the summer holidays, causing seats to fill quickly.

Increased Coaches In Rani Kamalapati Adhartal Express

To meet the high demand, train number 22187-22188 Rani Kamalapati–Adhartal Express will now run with three extra coaches — two sleeper and one third AC — added permanently from May 28. The train will now have a total of 23 coaches.

This move is expected to increase booking availability and reduce the waiting list. This train regularly stops at Rani Kamalapati, Narmadapuram, Itarsi, Pipariya, Gadarwara, Kareli, Narsinghpur, Shridham, Madan Mahal, Jabalpur, and Adhartal stations.
