Sugar mill land to be renovated soon

Jaora : With the efforts of regional MLA Dr Rajendra Pandey, finally, the sugar mill, which has been closed for the past 13 years, is again going to open. The administration has finally taken an initiative in this direction and decided to handover the land for industry purpose so that the employment opportunities could be increased. As soon as the land handed over to the industrial department, industries could be started there.

Including the Jaora and its near by rural areas, the sugar mill has acquired around 304 Bigha land, which was unused for past 13 years. It was established in the year 1934 and had also made a record in sugar production. However, due to the scarcity of sugarcane, it was closed in 2001. From then, this land was under government possession.

As this land is situated in the middle of the town, the land mafias have been keeping an eye on it but neither the concerned officials nor the public representatives were bothered about it. The regional MLA Dr Pandey has taken the initiative and raised this issue in the assembly. After which, the government has issued an order to remove the encroachments from the land and hand over it to the industrial department. The industrial department has also written a letter to the revenue department to complete the process.

SDM Harjindar Singh has appointed Tehsildar Anil Bhana to make the proposal. On this land, there are probabilities of establishing agricultural based industries, which would provide employment to thousands.
