‘Students should get interest on college deposit’

Sendhwa : Through a letter written to the PM Modi, the HRD minister Irani and finance minister Jaitely, the BJP spokesman Sunil Agrawal demanded that the students should get the interest on their deposit submitted to the educational institutes while the government should use the deposit for the public welfare works.

Explaining his view through the letter, Agrawal said that almost all private institutes take a heavy amount from the students as deposit and use it for personal use. The wholesome money in the form of deposit collected from the students reaches up to billions if accounted roughly. He suggested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the human resource minister Smriti Irani and the finance ministere Arun Jaitely to deposit the money on the name of students and the college through FDR so while leaving the college the students will get the interest. On the other hand, through the pattern billions of rupees will be deposited in the banks which can be used by the government for public welfare works.

Agrawal wrote in the letter that security deposit remains with the college management till the time of course completion which is nearly 4 to 5 years. After 6 months or 1 year of course completion, the college management returns the money to the students and raising many points some deductions are made in the deposit and even after using the money for 5 years, the college administration provides no interest on the deposit.
