Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh): Elections will be held for the posts of mayoral and corporator candidates in Municipal Corporation in Singrauli on Wednesday amid tight security, officials said.
The district authorities and police have been keeping strict vigil, police personnel remain deployed at 240 polling stations for the polling that will begin at 8 am and continue till 5 pm. Out of the total 240 polling booths, some have been marked as sensitive polling booths where special security teams and mobile police would be deployed.
Around 20 lakh lakh people are eligible to exercise their franchise and the collector has appealed to the people to cast their votes without any fear.
Security arrangements have also been made in the strong rooms with CCTV coverage to ensure round-the-clock safety of EVMs, police said

Bansroop Shah from BSP. Pushpendra Gupta from CPI. Lalbabu Kushwaha from JAP. Om Prakash Shah, Dharmendra Kumar and Bhagwan Prasad are independent candidates.
