Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A newborn was found in a garbage dumpster in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh on Saturday morning. She has sustained a severe cut on her neck.

The incident is said to be at Pachore Mela Ground in Rajgarh. Around 9 am, the little girl's cries alerted the passersby when they stopped to check the source of the noise. As they peeped inside a roadside garbage bin, they were shocked to see an infant crying. They immediately informed the police. A team of cops reached the spot and rescued the little girl.

They took her to Pachore Civil Hospital for treatment. The doctors said that the newborn has sustained knife cuts on her neck, which were bleeding. The baby is said to be not more than 48 hours old. After the first aid, the girl was referred to NICU in Rajgarh for better care.

The police have registered a case and started an investigation. The CCTV footage of the surrounding area is being examined, and local people are being questioned.

Pachore police station officials said that female constable Maya Nigam informed them about the incident. The girl was found inside a garbage dump near her house. She was taken to the hospital. The girl has been referred to Rajgarh due to injury in the neck.

The police have started the investigation and assured us they will nab the accused at the earliest.

Rise in such inhumane incidents have posed a serious concern. Similarly, last year in December, a premature baby was found in a garbage bin in Kandivali in Mumbai.
