Shivraj banking on RSS, sadhus to bust Simhastha myth?

BHOPAL :  There is a myth that no chief minister of Madhya Pradesh survives Simhastha.   The chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has smashed many a myth in the past is now trying to break this myth too.

Chouhan, who has impressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi by his performance, now intends to secure his position till 2018 assembly elections with the support of the RSS and leading saints of the country.

The conclusion of three-day Vaicharik Mahakumbh in Ujjain on Saturday has earned brownie points for Chouhan from the RSS. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavaha Suresh Joshi  were present in the programme. Around 1000 people linked with the RSS from across the country attended the programme. All of them returned impressed with Chouhan.

There is a buzz within the party that Modi may include Chouhan, who has worked as chief minister for more than ten years, in the Union council of ministers.

Narendra Singh Tomar, Thawarchand Gehlot and Kailash Vijayvargiya are also amongst the contenders. Modi appreciating the work done in the state in the fields of agriculture and irrigation, is said to be one of the reasons. By conduct of Vaicharik Mahakumbh, Chouhan has impressed RSS as well as saints community. Besides attending the Vaicharik Mahakumbh, Chouhan spent most of his time in Ujjain.

Top saints namely Satyamitranand Giri, Avadheshanand Giri, Murari Bapu, Uttam Swami, Nrityagopaldas, Jaggi Vasudev, Baba Ramdev, Pranav Pandya, Sadhvi Ritambhara and Narendra Giri all had praised Chouhan’s hospitality. Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah cannot ignore RSS and saints community. Chouhan leading Simhastha from the front had not only his spiritual aspect but it was also a part of political strategy and he seems to have been successful in it.
