Shame on those shedding tears for terrorists, says Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Yadav’s family to get Rs 25 lakh; Rs 2 lakh to each member of encounter team

BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced an award of Rs. 2 lakh each to the policemen who were a part of the team that killed eight SIMI activists in encounter.

Chouhan made the announcement during his address on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day at Lal Parade Ground here on Tuesday.

Chouhan said the valiant act of the state police was highly praise-worthy. Chouhan also announced to raising of the ‘Shraddha Nidhi’ given to police personnel who attain martyrdom to Rs 25 lakh. He said the hike in the ‘Nidhi’ would be applicable to head constable Ramashankar Yadav, who attained martyrdom during his fight with SIMI inmates.

Chouhan said the SIMI men, who were killed in police encounter, were dreaded terrorists and they were involved in bomb blasts, loots, dacoity and other serious crimes. Chief minister said shame on those who sympathise with terrorists.

He said such people hardly spoke about Ramashankar Yadav. Chouhan asked how could any head constable slit his own throat and help eight jail inmates flee from the jail. Chouhan said those who are raising questions on encounter of 8 SIMI inmates must ponder over this fact. He said terrorists eating Biryani in jail is not proper Chouhan said when fast track courts can be made to speed up cases of corruption then such courts should also be made to dispose terrorism related cases.

Chief Minister said the reward of Rs 40 lakh announced on the arrest of the terrorists will be distributed amongst village people, who gave information about their presence.

Chouhan said MP Police eradicated dacoits from Chambal, it has also tamed Naxalism in Balaghat and has brought laurels to the state by killing the terrorists, who had fled from jail after slitting throat of a head constable, have brought laurels.

Villagers felicitated

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan invited the residents of the villages around Itkhedi, who had informed police about the presence of terrorists, on the stage and felicitated them. He hugged Sarpanch of Khejragarh Mohan Meena and others. Chouhan also mentioned the names of Bhopal IG Yogesh Choudhary and SSP Raman Sikarwar saying that he is proud of such police officers.
