Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) : Gwalior police have arrested several individuals linked to a massive digital fraud involving Rs 1.30 crore. The funds were transferred to a bank account in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh and subsequently dispersed to over 20 bank accounts across eight states.
Police have been investigating these accounts to trace the fraud's origins and the identities of their holders. They suspect that many of these accounts were rented similar to previous cases in Ujjain and Nagda.
Additionally, around Rs 6.5 lakh has been traced to accounts in Delhi and Noida. Key suspects, including bank employees, confessed that the mastermind behind the operation was Udayraj, who facilitated cash withdrawals and converted funds into digital currency for the fraudsters. His associate, Tushar Gome, has also been identified as a crucial player in this scam.
Mother-daughter killed in road accident
Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A woman and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter lost their lives in a road accident in Gwalior on Wednesday.
The tragedy occurred when a speeding dumper collided with their motorcycle from behind at Bilua Tiraha.
The family, consisting of 25-year-old Ummed Singh, his 23-year-old wife Hemlata and young daughter Divyanshi, was returning to their village, Kulath, after attending a wedding.
The impact of the collision was devastating that duo was killed on the spot. Ummed Singh sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Jayarogya Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Following the accident, the dumper driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. The police have since seized the dumper and registered a case against the driver. Police official said that efforts were underway to locate the suspect.
