BHOPAL : A national-level seminar on Indian freedom movement was organised here on Saturday under the aegis of Swaraj Sansthan Sanchalanalaya. More than 25 historians and experts attended the seminar.
Dr Aruna Awasthy from Baroda said discussion on writing history of Indian freedom movement is a relevant topic in today’s time. She said it is a subject which needs regular research and analysis.
Swaraj Sansthan’s commissioner Rajesh Prasad Mishra, inaugurating the seminar, said the research done by historians on burning topics of history would necessarily benefit the young generation.
The seminar’s convener Dr Suresh Mishra, introducing the participants, said they have submitted their research papers which would be soon published in the form of a book.
Dr Hemant Dave from Vidhyanagar discussed on Kheda Satyagraha. Dr Pradyumna Khachar, from Junagarh, presented analysis of historical books on freedom movement. Dr Neeta Khandpekar, from Mumbai University, threw light on the addresses given by Gandhi, Tilak, Madanmohan Malviya, Nehru, Dadabhai Noroji, Vivekanand and Rasbihari Bose related to freedom movement. In the second session, Dr Arun Vaghela from Ahmedabad presented research paper on Bardoli Satyagraha, Dr Mukesh Kumar from Gaya on Indian freedom movement, Dr AK Mishra from Bhubaneswar on Orissa during freedom movement, Dr Maitri Sabnis, Dr Sangeeta Meshram from Nagpur, Dr Suman Vaidhya and Dr Shanta Kothekar presented research papers.
The seminar would conclude on October 23.
