Satna (Madhya Pradesh): In a crackdown before the elections to civic and municipal bodies in poll bound Madhya Pradesh, excise officials have seized illicit liquor in Satna district. The action is taken in compliance with the instructions of dry day ahead of polling day issued by district collector.
An excise team led by Sub-Inspector Nilesh Gupta, took action to close all the composite liquor shops operating in the jurisdictions of the municipal area, during which the Excise Department took action against two.
Action against the accused Raju Kushwaha, aged 27 years, resident of Tikuria Tola was taken who was standing behind the composite liquor shop Jaystambh along with illicit liquor. Similarly accused Kamlesh Kumar Rakwar, aged 28 years was held from behind the Composite Liquor Shop Circuit House shop from whom 4 boxes of illegal liquor, a total of 200 quarters were recovered.
Later a case under section 34(1) of the Excise Act, 1915 was registered against them and the case was taken up for investigation.
