Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh became angry at Congress's Samvidhan Bachao Rally in Gwalior on Monday when Congress members began leaving during his speech.
The visibly upset Congress leader declared from the stage, "End the fight over who will sit on stage, from now on, I will not sit on stage. I will come on stage when the time comes to speak, and then go down."
The rally was part of Congress's statewide "Samvidhan Bachao" campaign targeting the Modi government. Despite three years remaining before assembly elections, Congress has launched this initiative with planned rallies at state, district and block levels.
At the event, Jitu Patwari criticised Jyotiraditya Scindia for toppling an elected government by causing MLAs to switch parties, calling it "an attack on the Constitution." Former minister Omkar Singh Markam labelled Scindia a "traitor."
While former Chief Minister Kamal Nath was notably absent, other prominent leaders like state president Jitu Patwari, leader of opposition Umang Singhar and state in-charge Harish Chaudhary attended.
Congress has scheduled Samvidhan Bachao Rally nationwide between April 25-30, with Madhya Pradesh's campaign beginning in Gwalior before expanding to other districts and constituencies.
